Western Australia is Australia's largest State, covering an
area of 2,527,662 sq km. It contains 32.9 per cent of the
continent and has a coastline of over 7000km. It spans 2410km
from North to South and 1615km East to West. The most populated
region is the south west corner, containing the most fertile
land. This region is known for it's Large Karri forrests,
wildflowers and wildlife. At the bottom of WA is the town of
Albany. A former whaling station and also the site of the first
white settlement in WA in 1826.
The States Capitol is Perth. Perth is a picture perfect city.
Clean neat and tidy, locals are proud of the city's standing in
Australia. Perth retains a mediterranean climate, and summer
tempreatures often reach the forty degree celsius mark. The
North of the state is a really sparse place. With distances
between towns stretching to over 400km in some places, with
little rainfall northern Western Australia can be an
unforgiving place. However the most spectacular scenic area of
the North may be the Kimberly Region. Wild river gorges,
crocodiles and fishing you just won't believe.
